Change Nickname

Type this command in

/NICK name

Other Commands

/TIME

prints out the time and date according to the server.

Type in /TOPIC "What you want to set the topic to"

The bit quotes, is the message displayed

/KICK

You need to be a channel operator to use this command

Type in /KICK nickname "Go away toll"

The bit quotes, is the message displayed

/VOICE

You need to be a channel operator to use this command

Type in /VOICE nickname

/OP

You need to be a channel operator to use this command

Type in /OP nickname

---

/JOIN

To join a channel

Type in /JOIN #channel

IF the channel does not exist, the server will create an empty room with you as that channel OP.

/QUIT

Anyone can leave channel, with a message of their choice like this

Type in /QUIT "Bye, Im off to watch Jesse on TV"

---

/AWAY

Anyone can mark themeselves as away in channel, with a message of their choice like this

Type in /AWAY "I am taking a power nap"

Typing it in twice, would mark you as active, and some clients do this automaticaly when you come back and type anything.

BUT you might well find it easier to just change your nickname.

Alternatives Access to #CHAT

You do not have to use this web page as the only method of getting into chat. You can use any IRC Client you wish, There is a list of available clients on wikipedia here
